The most recent issue of the ‘New England Journal of Medicine’ holds a report that indicate weight loss helps to relieve the symptoms of incontinence suffered by as many as 13 million American women. Incontinence, or the loss of control of the urinary bladder, may occur in most of circumstances, together with aging muscles that manage the urinary bladder, irritation, or infection, and female-specific problems like pregnancy and childbirth.

The study was organized in Birmingham, Alabama, and Providence, Rhode Island. It was funded by the Office of Research on Women’s Health and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases
